MEET THE TEAM
JARROD BALL
Owner/NCCP Certified Instructor
Archery Competition - Development
Archery has been part of Jarrod's life for as long as he can remember. Growing up around the sport, it eventually became something he wanted to share with others, leading him to create Pacific Archery Academy and spend more than 17 years coaching.
Jarrod loves introducing people to archery and seeing where the sport can take them, whether that means simply finding a new activity they enjoy or developing all the way to provincial teams, the BC Winter Games and Canadian Championships.
An NCCP Competition Development Certified Coach specializing in Olympic recurve, Jarrod has worked with thousands of youth and adults over the years. His coaching style is patient, encouraging and focused on the individual. He has extensive experience working with neurodivergent participants and different learning styles and is always willing to find a different way to explain or teach something when needed.
For Jarrod, archery should be challenging, rewarding and, most importantly, fun. His goal is to give every archer a place where they feel welcome, can build confidence and have the opportunity to take the sport as far as they want to go.
MALENA MORALES ALVAREZ
NCCP Certified Instructor of Beginner Archers
Malena is a volunteer coach and Range Safety Officer with Pacific Archery Academy, helping create a safe, welcoming and positive environment for archers of all ages.
She is NCCP Certified in beginner archery instruction and brings years of professional experience working with children from her background as an Early Childhood Educator in the Netherlands. That experience gives Malena a natural ability to connect with younger participants and help them feel comfortable, confident and included while learning a new sport.
At Pacific Archery Academy, Malena assists with classes, camps and events, with a particular focus on range safety and supporting youth participants. Her calm and patient approach makes her an important part of the coaching team and the experience we aim to provide for every archer.
Malena volunteers her time with Pacific Archery Academy and has become an integral part of our programs and community.
